So I have a credit card with a rewards program that accumulates points when I use the card to purchase things. I use the card for everything in order to accumulate points.
However, I pay rent to my landlord via check every month. I was wondering if there was a service out there that can charge my credit card and send a check to my landlord or maybe there is another method.
I'd like to be able to put my rent on my credit card to gain more points. Any ideas?|||Go to the post office and get a money order and put that charge on your credit card. That's about the only way you can get it without having a huge cash advance fee.|||Some credit cards offer "Cash Advance" checks, try giving them a call and asking them|||Call your credit card company and ask them to send you a check.
2nd option: if your credit card has an online access go register. Then pay your bills within your account. They should have a link saying" Bills and payment "|||Do NOT use the "cash advance" feature of your credit card which allows you to write a check. The interest rate for this type of charge is outrageous and is more than the normal interest rate you pay for your other purchases. Also, the interest for cash advances begin immediately, not after the regular grace period you get for your other charges. This means that even if you pay your bill in full each month, you will still pay interest on cash advances.
If your landlord does not accept rent via credit card, don't worry about the rewards you are "losing" from the credit card company, just go ahead and pay with a check like you've always done it. Remember, in most cases, the benefits of credit card rewards programs are usually off-set by the interest you pay.
Hope this helps. Good luck!|||Yes, this is simple. Just call up your credit card company, and request these checks. Sometimes you may find them in your mailbox, because they randomly mail them out, but I would just request them, and pay your landlord that way.
Just make sure you pay it off in full in order to take advantage of the rewards :)
